Ama Dogbefou, ESL

My name’s Ama Dogbefou, I am a student in the ESL program. I am an open-minded, active, organized and positive person. I am very social and flexible in all areas because I like to learn new things. I want to be part of the SANQC team to bring my support and skills to the great and hard jobs you are doing in college. As a newcomer and who has ten years of experience in mental health, I know how wellness is important. I understand the difficulty of the language barrier to integrate with people. I will help my peers’ students in their physical, emotional and mental well-being. I will help them connect to the different services in the college. I will work in the vision, mission and value of SANQC to make a difference in students’ lives.

Business, Environment & Technology Candidates

The following candidate is running uncontested for a Business, Environment & Technology candidate position. When voting, select yes to approve of the candidate or no to disapprove of the candidate.

Tarandeep Kaur, Business Administration

As a first-year student at NorQuest College, I am thrilled to be participating in the Students’ Council Elections. I have been nominated to run for the faculty of Business.

In high school, I was elected twice as a students’ council member. My performance in the position was adequate. I addressed the issues that were raised by the students, helped them in every way possible. NorQuest has a diversity of students coming from different countries. Obviously, the first year can be difficult, since you’re unfamiliar with the culture. However, I hope to grow and learn along with you. NorQuest is a place where I can help the students and guide them. I won’t let you down. I will answer all of your queries and dedicate my full attention to you. I will comply with the rules at all times. So do I have your vote?

Health & Community Studies Candidates

The following candidates are running uncontested for Health & Community Studies candidate positions. When voting, select yes to approve of each candidate or no to disapprove of each candidate.

Navjot Kaur, Disability Studies

My name is Navjot Kaur and I selected a diploma of disability studies at NorQuest College. Becoming a student representative empowers students to create and reinforce authority abilities, associate with different inner and outside offices, help fellow students with having their voice heard, and share encounters.

Kelly Komga Tchapomb, Health Care Aide for English Learners

My name is Kelly Komga, a current student at NorQuest College in the Health Care Aid for English Learners program. I am from Cameroon which is in the Central Africa. I came to Canada in 2020. I am also married and I have two kids. As a student, in my background I have a master degree in accounting, also speak six languages: french, english, german, spanish, medumba and ewondo. Moreover, I was successively more than one year president of ethical club, preident of english club, president of german club and vice president of journal club in high school. Further, I am a founding member of an extra-curricular project called “Projet Jeunesse Culture et Citoyennete (PJCC)”. So in this project, apart from other tasks, I was the songwriter of the national anthem of that project.

I am dynamic and charismatic. That is why I like to use my dynamic to put myself at the service of others, in order to interact with them with dignity and respect their preference. This is the reason why I present myself to this position. With all the experience that I have gained so far, I have the necessary abilities to socialize easily, communicate freely and easily, bring people together and encourage them to be open, innovate, while being flexible in actions. I am very open to criticism, responsible, respectful and courageous. I always live up to my goals and my duties.

Finally I will, through my capacities, effectively and efficiently contribute for the success not only of the students but also of NorQuest College as a whole.
