When voting, please select YES to approve of the candidate or NO to disapprove of the candidate.
Bridget Ayoku, Health Care Aide
My name is Bridget Ayoku. I’m enrolled in the Health Care Aide program. I am running to be a Student Council representative for the Faculty of Health studies. As a member of the student council, I would strive to actively contribute to the wellbeing and success of all the students here at Norquest college. As a student myself, I am familiar with the pressures, challenges and stress that are associated with being a student especially in a new environment. I would utilize the position to amplify our concerns and advocate for results that will positively impact the wellbeing of students. I am passionate about working with the council as a team towards achieving a common goal and as a representative I would be working with other council members and all the students who we represent. I believe that my previous experience as the welfare secretary of my religious organization has helped me understand the need to relay information and resolve concerns in an efficient manner in order to avoid delays and any general disruptions to activities. I will consider it a great honor to serve in this very important capacity, as one of the student Representative of my Faculty.

Yazmin Seade Castellanos, Settlement Studies
Hi, my name is Ana Yazmin and I am an international student of the Settlement Studies program.
Living at Canada and being student at Norquest, has been my happiest experience, despite all the challenges that, as newcomer you have to face. It has showed me my strengths and how a dream could come true. This experience also demonstrated me that you are not alone in this world, always there is someone to give you an advice or simply to listen to you.
I am also an active volunteer in the Mentorship program at the International Office at Norquest and organizations outside the College developing projects to support to immigrants, as all of us.
If I could choose three words to describe me, I will choose: Optimistic, Creative and Friendly.
My dream is to have a Settlement Agency to continue supporting newcomers to Canada in their successful adaptation and integration to this new society.
As a student council, I will be able to work with you in building a better society, with justice and humanity, creating bridges of communication and support in the school and outside it.
Give me the opportunity to be your voice as a student council and vote for me. I will be happy to help you and work in what you need.
Diana Ramirez, Settlement Studies
My name is Diana Ramirez, currently enrolled in my 2nd year of Settlement Studies. As a Peer Mentor at International Peer Mentorship Program, I wish to welcome new students by mainly supporting newcomer students as they overcome the cultural shock of Canada, while dealing with the stress that comes with being in college.
My passion has always been to learn from different backgrounds. While traveling to over 13 countries in almost every continent, I’ve learned to embrace the diversity between all cultures. Using my knowledge, I would like to include more cultural understandings within one another to have a more inclusive college expierence. Starting with exhibiting my own culture on Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) on Nov 2 and to encourage many others to do the same with their own culture.
It would be an honour to represent you as Student Council.
Gala Tacuba-Sandoval, Settlement Studies
Hello everyone! My name is Galadriel but you can call me Gala.
I am on my first year of Settlement Studies and I absolutely love my new field, which is why I would like to join the Students’ Council, because it will give me the chance to get to know all kinds of cultures and people.
I was born and raised in Mexico City, and I have always loved to work hard, I would like to have the opportunity to represent you, in an honest and open way. I love making friends and getting to know people, so it would be an honour to take on a responsability that allows me to interact with the student body and actually help! Please do not hesitate to call me or come up to me if you have any questions about my ideas or things you would like to share. I want to hear your voice!
