Also, I am a Student Member of CPHR Alberta, and I work to develop new contacts to give better support to my classmates in their student life. I have worked, through my volunteer activities with students from everywhere, and I have learned from everyone.

I feel and think that I am ready to become a Student’s Council Member, where I will work hard to represent your interests at NorQuest, hearing your needs and concerns, thus contributing to my academic community.

It would be an honour to count with your confidence and represent you as a Student’s Council Member.

I will work for you and with you! I am counting on your vote!

Aniket Verma, Business Administration

We all are capable of change and growth; we just need to know where to begin.

Hi my name is Aniket Verma . I am from New Delhi , India . Currently I am studying in Business Administration Diploma at NorQuest College.

I choose NorQuest College because this institution provides the best learning opportunities for all. I think that I would be the right fit for the student council representative because I am passionate about the impact that student activities (such as sports clubs , societies ) can have on a students experience and I want to promote this as much as possible. I think I have the ability to drive change . I love to interact and learn from people who are from different countries and have a completely different background.

If I become the Student Council Representative then I would support each and every student who is facing any kind of problems. Moreover, it would help me to display my leaderships skills and my motivating nature. I love to motivate others when they are low as it makes me feel happy when they feel relieved. I always try to involve others and always work as a team because I feel when you are working in a team everyone is constantly motivating and helping each other.

I genuinely believe I could make a difference to the lives of my fellow students . At last I would like to say that If I get nominated I make sure that I would give my hundred percent and work with other staff in order to bring out the best of NorQuest College.

Morgan Chalifoux Wabasca, Open Studies

In 2008 I graduated from the Aboriginal Community Certificate Program and for many years up until 2021 I have worked with the most marginalized pregnant women in Edmonton, Alberta. I am a dedicated student who often accesses and utilizes many of the student services. I am proactive about seeking school supports, and I am reliable. I show outstanding volunteer work with Norquest college, I am willing to support and mentor my peers with solid leadership skills.

My passion comes from my family and kids and my pride in being a mother. I am a strong and determined leader. Since being back to the school I feel I would be a good student council member for I would advocate to improve and make services more accessible for all students. Especially students that may suffer from disability and require more hands-on services. Our students who fall through the crack because they don’t know where to start our maybe just need different support.

Chassidy Stevenson, Indigenous Studies

My name is Chassidy Stevenson. My Indignous name is mihko mihkinak iskwew (Red Turtle Woman). I am the proud mother of a large family of eight. I was born in Winnipeg Manitoba, and raised in the Northend of the city, which is the inner-city of Winnipeg. I moved to Edmonton in 2012 to raise my children in a safer environment.

I am currently completing my first year of the Indigenous studies diploma program. I have previously completed The Family Support worker /FASD certificate program at Urban Circle training center which is a joint program with Red River College Polytech in Winnipeg. After I graduate from Norquest I have been exploring Indigenous Politics and will be looking for a program that will enhance my abilities as well as my knowledge even further which will allow me to work toward being a strong and solid voice for Indigenous people and all people.

I believe that I can positively assist with addressing the needs of all students at Norquest, especially students that feel they do not have a voice or feel underrepresented. I will be an effective, firm, and expressive voice for Indigeous students and all students attending Norquest College. I want to hear, acknowledge and support the concerns of our students and help facilitate solutions. I want to make sure that we as Norquest students have an input, opinion and have someone that will represent you and articulate your needs, suggestions and concerns that we as Indigenous students and all students may have and want brought forth.

I have no problem addressing issues that may be uncomfortable or not easy to talk about. I am willing to, and promise to be the voice our Indigenous students need; a voice for all students, to ensure we as all have a positive, healthy, welcoming and safe environment that supports our educational, as well as traditional needs. Please give me the honor and allow me to be your representative and the voice for Indigenous students and all our students at Norquest College.

Being elected as a student council member will not only provide me with great opportunities to grow as a resilient, responsible, and respectful person but also with the experience I gained so far I am strongly sure to have the ability to represent students and advocate for them. Most importantly I would have a chance to support different groups and become their voice.

I have studied at Norquest College for many years, and I know how to reach to certain people to get your voice noticed and ultimately receive help effeciently. Having the awarness that I am actually helping student out at NorQuest college to meet their needs brings happiness, and it made me to candidate myself for this position.

I appreaciate each and everyone’s vote.
