Your chance to be a part of Students’ Council is here! Make sure to submit your package before the deadline of Thu, Mar 14 at 12 pm (noon) MT.
As students, you have unique perspectives and talents. We value your input and want to help you create positive change for students, by students. Being on Students’ Council gives you the opportunity to learn new skills and enhance your resume while advocating for students at NorQuest. It also opens up many opportunities for training, development as well as scholarships and awards.

Find out more about the 10 hour monthly requirement, the honorarium that you will receive for your contributions, or just to learn about the team.

Which position do I put my name forward for?
Faculty or Appointed?
Faculty Representatives:
- Students can only put their name forward for the Faculty their program belongs to.
- Faculty of Arts & Sciences Representatives (2 open positions)
- Faculty of Business, Environment & Technology Representatives (2 open positions)
- Faculty of Health Studies Representatives (2 open positions)
- Faculty of Skills & Foundational Learning Representatives (1 open positions)
- Complete a Faculty Representative package
- Get student nominators
- Campaign during the election process
- Are elected through a voting process by fellow NorQuest students.
Appointed Representatives:
- Positions include:
- Self-Identified Indigenous Board of Governors Representative (1 open position)
- Self-Identified Regional Representative (1 open position)
- Student-at-Large Board of Governors Representative (NO OPEN POSITIONS)
- Complete an Appointed Representative package
- Get student nominators and letters of reference
- Are appointed through a review process done by a selection committee

- Get your student nominators to fill out the nominator form HERE before Mon, Mar 18 @ 10 am MT.
- Check your NorQuest student email often for updates, further information and instructions.
You’ll receive an email confirming your Faculty Representative package submission. Make sure the students that nominated you know to watch their email so they can help finalize your package.

- Nominator Signature List Verification Deadline: Mon, Mar 18 @ 10 am MT
- Mandatory All Candidates Meeting: Wed, Mar 20 from 5 – 7 pm MT
- Candidate Meet & Greet: Tue, Mar 26 from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm MT, Atrium (SCFL)
- Election Voting Period: Mon, Mar 25 @ 12 pm (noon) – Wed, Mar 27 @ 12 pm (noon)
How to put your name forward for an Appointed Representative position
- Self-Identified Indigenous Board of Governors Representative (1 open position)

- This role is open to current NorQuest College students who self-identify as Indigenous and meet the eligibility requirements as laid out in the Appointed Representative package. The Board of Governors provides oversight of the college by acting within clearly defined roles, effective governance structures and consistent processes. The Board represents the public in its oversight and stewardship of the public resources provided for NorQuest College. Click HERE for full details.

- This role is open to current NorQuest College students who self-identify as a regional student (primarily not on main campus) and meet the eligibility requirements as laid out in the Appointed Representative package.
