Campus SafeWalk is a volunteer and employee driven service. This program is dedicated to reducing the risk of physical and/or emotional harm to NorQuest students, employees, and guests during our operating hours within our service area at no cost.

All NorQuesters requesting a SafeWalk must complete a Request for SafeWalk form, no exceptions. Visit us at 2-006, SCFL by the Learner Centre to complete a Request for SafeWalk form.

Who can access the SafeWalk program?

The Campus SafeWalk program is available to all registered NorQuest College students, employees, and guests (NorQuesters) at no cost to the user.

When can I access the SafeWalk service?

The Campus SafeWalk program is available weekdays from 4:15 pm to 9:15 pm* during the Fall and Winter Terms.

*hours will be subject to change depending on SafeWalker availability. Closed during the Spring/Summer term.

What are the Campus SafeWalk boundaries?

Accompaniment is currently available from the NorQuest College main Campus building located at 10215 108 Street NW.

How much does it cost to access the SafeWalk program?

The Campus SafeWalk program is available at no cost to all NorQuest community users.

How many Campus SafeWalkers will accompany me?

There will always be a two-person team to accompany NorQuesters within our designated boundaries during hours of operation. If there are not enough volunteers available per shift, service will not be offered.

Can I access Campus SafeWalk if I am under the influence?

The Campus SafeWalkers will accompany anyone who is of sound mind (respectful, aware of their surroundings and can communicate clearly). We provide NorQuesters access to safety for all. Be respectful and courteous to the volunteers, they are here to support you!

Why do you need my personal information?

Your personal information helps our SafeWalkers identify you as a NorQuester and helps in Data collection for the success of our program. We will not use or share your personal information other than that of its intended purpose.

Why do I need the Campus SafeWalk services? Is the Campus unsafe?

Our goal is to reduce the risk of physical and/or emotional harm to our students, faculty, and guests in the evenings in and around Campus. The Campus SafeWalkers are here to ensure that you get to your respective vehicles, the Corona LRT station or bus stop with a peace of mind.

Will I be safe walking with the SafeWalkers?

The Campus SafeWalkers undergo safety training procedures that aid to reduce risk of physical and/or psychological harm to you, themselves, and others around campus. We welcome your feedback regarding your experience during your accompaniment service.

How do I know if being a SafeWalker is the right fit for me?

Your desire to help others is your strength. Orientation and on-boarding training are mandatory for all SafeWalkers to ensure that you are best suited for the Campus SafeWalker position.
